Get a Library Card

Permanent residents can become full members of the library free of charge with picture ID and proof of residency. Those under 12 years of age must have a parent or guardian present to consent to their acquiring a library card.

Members of other BC libraries may use their home library card under the BCOneCard system which would give them borrowing privileges at Rossland Public Library. You will be able to take out five items at a time.

Non-residents who aren’t eligible for a BC OneCard can purchase an annual membership for $30, giving them full privileges.

Visitors to Rossland with proof of residency (tenancy agreement, lease, rental agreement, etc) will be eligible for a Temporary Visitor’s Card for $25.

Responsibilities

You are responsible for all the materials borrowed on your card and for any charges on items that are overdue, lost or damaged. (See Loan Periods and Fines for details).

Lost cards

If you lose your library card, you are responsible for any items checked out on your card. You must report it as lost immediately and we will block the card so that no one can use it.

We can replace your card for $2.

Change of address

It is important for us to have your current contact information. If you change your address or other personal information, contact the library and we’ll update your record.

Every 3 years your library account will expire and will need to be renewed with updated contact information.
