Student Clerk

Job Description: The Rossland Public Library is seeking qualified applicants for a Part – time Student Clerk position beginning Tuesday, September 6th, 2022 and ending Saturday, May 28th, 2022.

Duties include: Shelving books, shelf reading and light cleaning duties as well as assisting with programming alongside the Children’s Librarian and Programming Clerk. Students will be trained to use the Integrated Library System and assist with other duties as required.
Training will be provided on the technology available at the Library and the Youth Clerk will provide some Tech Coaching/Training for patrons.

Work Experience and Education: Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Previous library experience is an asset but not necessary. Must be a full-time student (secondary or post-secondary).

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry and move library materials weighing up to 10 kilograms on a regular basis and up to 15 kilograms occasionally
Ability to reach a range of shelves between 5 and 200 centimetres above the floor

Hours: 12-15 hours per week. Must be available evenings and Saturdays.

Wages: $15.56/hour
